Blagoevgradski

Blagoevgrad region (also known as Blagoevgrad Province) is one of the 28 districts in Bulgaria. The administrative center is the city of Blagoevgrad. The region is located in the southwestern part of Bulgaria and practically coincides with the geographical region of Pirin Macedonia. With an area of 6449.5 km², it is the third largest in Bulgaria and has a population of 324,110 people (according to data from 2011). It borders Kyustendil and Sofia districts to the north, Pazardzhik and Smolyan districts to the east, Greece to the south and northern Macedonia to the west.
